Karachi Police Arrest Two Suspects in Bugti Tribal Shootout

A violent clash between rival Bugti tribal groups erupted in Karachi’s DHA VI Nishat Commercial area, resulting in the deaths of at least five people, including Fahad Bugti, the nephew of former Balochistan governor Akbar Bugti. The confrontation, which took place in the bustling Iqbal Market district, prompted a significant police response and led to numerous arrests.

According to Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Javed Alam Odho, two suspects have been arrested, and more than 17 individuals are in custody related to the violent incident. The case has been registered at the Drigh Road police station, with charges including murder, attempted murder, and terrorism. AIGP Odho emphasized that the state is acting as the complainant in this case and asserted that Karachi’s law enforcement agencies are committed to upholding the rule of law and preventing any group or individual from taking justice into their own hands.

CCTV footage from the scene provides a dramatic depiction of the violence. The video shows two white vehicles and a black vehicle approaching from a side road. As the vehicles stop, individuals disembark and engage in a shootout, causing widespread panic as people seek cover. The footage highlights the intensity and chaos of the situation, capturing the rapid escalation of violence.

In his statement, AIGP Odho assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and that the authorities are determined to bring all responsible parties to justice. He stressed that disturbances and acts of violence will not be tolerated and that maintaining peace and security in Karachi is a top priority. The police are working diligently to resolve the situation and restore order to the affected area.

As the investigation continues, Karachi remains on high alert, with law enforcement agencies focused on addressing the aftermath of the clash and preventing further violence.
