Aleema Khan: Imran Khan wants army to be neutral

Aleema Khan, the sister of Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), recently made a statement about her brother’s position on the military’s role in Pakistan.

During a media interaction at Adiala Jail, where she and other family members met with Imran Khan, Aleema Khan reported that lawyers were not permitted to attend the meeting. She accused the military of exerting control over the jail.

According to Aleema Khan, Imran Khan expressed his view that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are morally bankrupt. He allegedly criticized the current government for attempting to sow discord between PTI and the military. Imran Khan, she said, emphasized that the military is a crucial pillar of Pakistan and stressed the importance of maintaining a harmonious relationship between the military and the people.

Imran Khan, as quoted by Aleema Khan, expressed concern over the country’s future, arguing that without the rule of law and democracy, Pakistan cannot progress. He highlighted the adverse impact on businesses and the emigration of citizens as significant issues facing the nation. He reportedly urged the military to remain neutral in the current political climate to ensure stability and support the country’s advancement.
