LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Aalia Neelam has instructed Azma Bokhari, Provincial Minister of Punjab for Information and Culture, to approach the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) regarding a defamatory social media campaign targeting her. Justice Neelam has urged Bokhari to submit all relevant evidence to the FIA for a thorough investigation.
The directive follows Bokhari’s appeal to the court after an obscene video purportedly featuring her went viral. Azma Bokhari has vehemently denied any involvement, revealing that the video was edited to falsely depict her. In a recent social media post on X (formerly Twitter), Bokhari shared two screenshots from the video, highlighting the edited version with her face and the original version showing another woman.
Bokhari’s X post read, “I will go to the Lahore High Court tomorrow to seek justice from the Chief Justice. Is there any justice for us women, or is this facility only for terrorists?” She expressed her determination to fight for justice, questioning the authorities’ failure to act on cases of dignity violations and seeking clarity on the current instructions for protecting women’s rights.
Bokhari’s call for justice emphasizes her resolve to personally take her case to court. “I will take matters into my own hands,” she pledged, vowing to advocate for herself and ensure that such defamatory actions are addressed appropriately.
