PML-N Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed has made a bold prediction that former US President Donald Trump is poised to win the upcoming 2024 presidential election on November 5, following an assassination attempt.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed stated, โI believe today Donald Trump has won the November 5 election because he did not panic when he was picked up after the attack and showed a fist, saying โfight, fight, fightโ.โ He emphasized that Trumpโs display of bravery would earn him a significant sympathy vote, similar to how conspiracy theories might circulate among his supporters.
Trump was shot in the ear during a campaign rally on Saturday, an incident likely to reshape the US presidential race and raise questions about the security provided to the Republican candidate. Early on Sunday, the FBI identified 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the suspect involved in the assassination attempt. Crooks is a registered Republican, according to state voter records.
Dismissing the notion of the attack being orchestrated by Trump himself, Senator Syed remarked, โThis was the work of a professional, as the bullet hit his ear. If Trump had not turned his face, the bullet would have hit him in the head.โ He expressed confidence in Trumpโs impending victory and asserted, โI believe Trump will be a better president than Biden.โ
Senator Syed further stated that Trump would be the first president since John F. Kennedy not representing the American establishment. He predicted that Trump would end the Ukraine war and avoid initiating new conflicts against Muslims. Criticizing current US President Joe Biden, Syed accused him of being complicit in the Gaza massacre and labeled him a โwarmongerโ who escalates tensions with NATO and provokes Russia in Ukraine.
Addressing broader geopolitical issues, Syed contended that Russian President Vladimir Putinโs actions in Ukraine were defensive and aimed at strengthening regional cooperation. He highlighted Putinโs friendly relations with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his desire for good relations with Pakistan.
Commenting on Pakistanโs economic situation, Syed criticized the IMF formula, suggesting that the country was in the โICU, which is not a sign of progress.โ He also referred to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharifโs resignation threat during an FBR meeting as a response to the Supreme Courtโs decision on the Sunni Ittehad Council seats.
Syed revealed that after the 2018 elections, he had prepared to expose electoral rigging through a white paper, but was stopped by Shehbaz Sharif following a directive from higher authorities. This white paper was never published, implying external influence on the party’s actions.
