Burhan Wani

On the 8th anniversary of Burhan Wani’s martyrdom, leaders and organizations within the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) have reaffirmed their commitment to the Kashmiri freedom movement, honoring Wani’s legacy as a symbol of resistance against Indian occupation.

Ghulam Safi, convener of the APHC, paid tribute to Burhan Wani, highlighting how his martyrdom injected new vigor into the struggle for Kashmir’s independence.

Safi emphasized that despite India’s persistent efforts, Kashmiris remain resolute in their quest for self-determination, a right recognized by United Nations resolutions.

He expressed optimism that Kashmiris would soon breathe the air of freedom, stressing that the youth of occupied Kashmir continue to follow in Wani’s footsteps.

Mushaal Hussein Mullick, in a video message, praised Burhan Wani’s courage and determination, noting how his actions exposed Indian state terrorism to the global community.

She described Wani as an enduring symbol of Kashmiri resilience and independence, whose legacy inspires young Kashmiris in their resistance against Indian forces.

Masarat Alam Butt, detained in Tihar Jail, also paid homage to Wani and his comrades, urging Kashmiris to commemorate their sacrifices through protests, seminars, and other events.

Butt underscored Wani’s role in igniting the flame of Kashmir’s freedom movement, portraying him as a symbol of defiance against India’s oppressive tactics.

Across Azad Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Commission, Pasban-e-Hurriyat, and other Hurriyat organizations planned protest rallies in all districts.

In Muzaffarabad, a significant rally is scheduled to commence from Burhan Muzaffarwani Chowk, demonstrating solidarity and remembrance for Burhan Wani and his associates.

The anniversary of Burhan Wani’s martyrdom continues to serve as a poignant moment for Kashmiris, reflecting their ongoing struggle for autonomy and justice.

As commemorations unfold across the region, the legacy of Burhan Wani remains a rallying cry for Kashmiri aspirations towards freedom from Indian occupation.
