During meeting with Tajik president, PM underscored investment opportunities in Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held talks with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon on Tuesday, highlighting significant opportunities for foreign investment in Pakistan’s energy, mining, industry, agriculture, and other sectors.

Upon arrival at Qasr-e-Millat, the Tajik president warmly welcomed the Prime Minister, with both leaders overseeing a guard of honor by Tajik Armed Forces contingents. National anthems of both nations played during the ceremony as Prime Minister Shehbaz stood on the salute dias.

Later, the leaders introduced their respective delegations, with Prime Minister Shehbaz accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Fatemi.

President Emomali Rahmon underscored the strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan, and both leaders explored avenues to enhance cooperation across various sectors.

PM Shehbaz extended an invitation for Tajikistan to invest in diverse sectors of Pakistan, aiming to strengthen regional connectivity and people-to-people linkages between the two nations.

Upon his arrival at Dushanbe airport, the Prime Minister was greeted by Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, Energy Minister Daler Juma, Deputy Foreign Minister Farrukh Sgarifzoda, Tajik Ambassador in Islamabad Yousuf Sharifzoda, Pakistan Ambassador in Dushanbe Saeed Sarwar, and senior diplomats.

According to the Information Ministry, the Prime Minister’s visit includes attending signing ceremonies for various bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) covering diverse areas of cooperation.

A joint press conference is anticipated following the conclusion of these ceremonies, with President Emomali Rahmon hosting a dinner in honor of PM Shehbaz and his delegation at Qasr-i-Nowruz.
