The intensity of heat is increasing across the country, with everyone suffering from stomach related diseases, caused by quick heat weave due to low consumption of drinks.
The temperature in Islamabad has risen to 37c in just two days from around 30c, while in Lahore it is higher like 40 and in Karachi even higher to 42 on Monday. This is extraordinary heat came after Eid and in Covid adding to more problems of common man.
It is very important to maintain the balance of water in the body to avoid heat stroke in summers. Due to intense sunlight, hot afternoons, and humidity several problems are caused in the body which include
- high rise of body temperature
- headaches
- rapid breathing
- flushed skin
- Nausea and vomiting.
Some of the heat stroke saving drinks prescribed by nutritionists are as follows:
Increase the amount of plain water
According to medical experts, in order to maintain the balance of salts and water in the body, every human being, whether child or old, male or female, should increase the use of plain water from the beginning of summer, during this time avoid sweet, processed and cane drinks.

Lemon water or use of shakanjabin
The use of lemon water in summer season is also very important, using lemon water not only prevents heat stroke but also maintains glucose level, make it mandatory to use 2 glasses of lemon water daily in summer.

Use of sweet, salty or raw lassi
Using lassi in summers is helpful in preventing heat stroke, lassi effectiveness is cold and it lowers the high body temperature, Raw lassi is a very useful drink, add one cup of milk to one and a half or two litres of water to make raw lassi and add little bit of salt, drink this cool lassi all day, it will be helpful to prevent heat stroke.

Coconut water
Drinking coconut water 2 to 3 times a day in summers, not only keeps the body temperature low but also yields a lot of vitamins and minerals.

Coconut water also has properties to fight against cancer and prevent the effects of aging.
