Ten Punjab Residents Abducted by Armed Men in Quetta

Unidentified armed men kidnapped 10 individuals from Punjab at Shuban picnic point in Zarghon Ghar, Quetta, according to the reports.

The incident occurred when 16 people were taken hostage by the assailants while they were enjoying their time at Shuban picnic point. According to the DG Levies, the kidnappers released six hostages after checking their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs).

Among the ten abducted individuals is a Customs Officer, along with others who are residents of Punjab province. The law enforcement agencies have initiated a search operation to locate and rescue the abductees. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of residents and visitors in the region.

In related news, seven workers from Punjab were recently killed in a terrorist attack in Gwadar, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region. The police have reported that unknown armed assailants targeted laborers from Punjab in the Satellite area of Kech, Turbat, last year. During this attack, six laborers were shot dead, and two others were injured.

The police stated that the assailants barged into the house of a local contractor named Naseer, located 120 kilometers (75 miles) east of the border with Iran. The criminals committed the heinous crime, leaving six laborers dead on the spot and critically injuring the remaining two.

These incidents underscore the persistent threat posed by armed groups in the region, particularly targeting individuals from Punjab. The local administration and law enforcement agencies are under pressure to enhance security measures and ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

Efforts to address the security situation in the region are ongoing, with a focus on apprehending the perpetrators and preventing further such incidents. The recent kidnappings and attacks highlight the urgent need for effective measures to combat the menace of armed violence and terrorism in the area.
