KARACHI: AIG Karachi has taken serious notice of the increasing trend among police officials, including female constables, making TikTok videos while on duty.
The Karachi police chief underscored that the uniform provided to police personnel is strictly for performing official duties and not for personal publicity or entertainment. “Making TikTok videos while in uniform during duty hours is highly inappropriate and undermines the integrity of the police force,” stated AIG Police Imran Yaqoob Minhas. He emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and the public image of the police department.
In response to this trend, a constable was reassigned to CPEC duty as a consequence of making TikTok videos. This measure is intended to serve as a deterrent to others who might consider similar actions.
Additionally, a female constable received a warning and was formally censured for her involvement in creating TikTok content while in uniform. This action reflects the department’s zero-tolerance policy towards such unprofessional behavior.
Furthermore, the AIG highlighted that a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was also issued a warning for engaging in this practice. The Karachi police chief reiterated that any police personnel found making TikTok videos while in uniform would face strict departmental action. He stressed that such behavior is not only a violation of the code of conduct but also detrimental to the public’s trust in the police force.
The AIG’s stern stance on this issue aims to reinforce the discipline and decorum expected from police officials, ensuring that they focus on their primary responsibilities of maintaining law and order and serving the community with dedication and integrity.
