In a significant move, the PTI has also called for Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa to recuse himself from cases involving Khan and the party, citing a conflict of interest.
Following a crucial meeting on Friday, the core committee reviewed the release of a documentary based on the Hamoodur Rehman Commission Report, which scrutinizes the 1971 loss of East Pakistan. The PTI stressed the importance of making this report public to educate the nation about past mistakes and prevent future missteps. The committee has tasked its legal team with formulating a robust strategy in response to the FIA’s notices concerning the documentary.
The PTI reaffirmed its dedication to upholding the Constitution and the rule of law, urging the armed forces to adhere strictly to their constitutional duties. The statement underscored the need to understand and learn from the political missteps that led to the secession of East Pakistan, warning that the current political climate bears unsettling similarities to the 1970s.
Addressing the loss of East Pakistan, the PTI condemned historical and ongoing violations of the public mandate, which it argues continue to harm national integrity. Imran Khan’s warnings about the dangers of unchecked individual power were reiterated, emphasizing the need for vigilance to safeguard democracy, the Constitution, and the armed forces.

Moreover, the PTI has formally requested Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa to recuse himself from cases involving the party and Imran Khan, asserting that his involvement would compromise the fairness of the proceedings.
