Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia Outvalues Burj Khalifa in Construction Cost

Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man, boasts a net worth of $113 billion and owns some of the most luxurious real estate properties worldwide. One of his most prized possessions is his residence in Mumbai, India, called Antilia, which ranks among the world’s most expensive houses.

However, is it costlier than the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai?

Antilia

Antilia rises to a height of 568 feet on Mumbai’s Altamount Road, a location famously known as the city’s billionaires’ row. The building comprises 27 floors, with the top six floors dedicated to Reliance Industries owner Mukesh Ambani’s wife, Nita, their sons Akash and Anant, Akash’s wife Shloka, and their children, Prithvi and Veda. Constructed by two U.S. firms between 2004 and 2010, Antilia’s construction cost amounted to INR 15,000 crore, according to DNA India.

Burj Khalifa

In contrast, the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, stands at an astonishing height of 2,716 feet in Dubai, encompassing 163 floors. The skyscraper features a mix of commercial, residential, and hospitality spaces. Built between 2004 and 2010 by a South Korean firm, the Burj Khalifa’s construction cost was approximately $1.5 billion, which equates to over INR 12,000 crore today, as reported by DNA India.

Despite its towering stature and global recognition, the Burj Khalifa was constructed at a lower cost compared to Ambani’s Antilia. Thus, Antilia, with its extravagant expenditure of INR 15,000 crore, stands as a more expensive project than the Burj Khalifa, which cost over INR 12,000 crore. This comparison highlights the remarkable scale and opulence of Mukesh Ambani’s residence in Mumbai.
