PM Shehbaz Sharif Visits Iranian Embassy to Offer Condolences for President Raisi’s Tragic Death

ISLAMABAD: On Monday, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to the Embassy of Iran to offer condolences for the tragic deaths of President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a helicopter crash.

Expressing profound shock and sorrow, the prime minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the people of Iran. He emphasized that Pakistan stands in solidarity with Iran during this time of mourning, extending sympathies and prayers to the families of the martyrs and the Iranian nation as a whole.

PM Shehbaz praised President Raisi as a brilliant scholar and a visionary leader, highlighting his significant contributions to his nation and the strengthening of Pakistan-Iran relations. He recalled President Raisi’s recent visit to Pakistan, which further cemented bilateral ties and regional cooperation.

In his prayers, the prime minister invoked Allah’s blessings upon the departed souls, wishing them a high place in paradise.

Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, expressed gratitude to PM Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistani nation for their unwavering support during this challenging time. He noted that President Raisi held PM Shehbaz Sharif in high regard, considering him a true friend of Iran.

The ambassador affirmed that President Raisi’s vision for enhancing Pakistan-Iran relations would endure, reflecting the late leader’s commitment to regional cooperation and friendship.

During his visit, PM Shehbaz Sharif also penned a condolence message in the embassy’s condolence book, paying his respects to the memory of President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
