82nd Airborne for Deployment in ME: Reuters

The Pentagon is planning to deploy 3000 plus combatants from the 82nd Airborne division. The deployment suggests greater US involvement in the Iran-Israel war as it stands at the start of the fourth week of strikes and counter strikes. The underlying reason for the deployment of Division is adding the boots on the ground factor; aimed either at what the Pentagon planners foresee as the final stages of effecting a regime change in Tehran; or it can be used for countering the IRGC in Strait of Hormuz or annexation of the Iranian revenue lifeline; Kharg Island close to the Iranian Arab majority province of Khuzestan.
