Thirty-eight Palestinian students completed their Bachelor of Dental Surgery degrees in Pakistan through the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s Palestinian Scholarship Program.
Alkhidmat Foundation organised a graduation ceremony to celebrate the students’ academic success. The event recognised their resilience despite the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The ceremony attracted several dignitaries and education leaders. Attendees included Palestinian Ambassador Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamdallah Zaid and Prof. Dr. Hafeez ur Rahman.
Ceremony Highlights Students’ Determination and Achievement
Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Hafeez ur Rahman praised the graduates’ commitment to education. He said their success reflected determination despite war, displacement, and hardship.
Moreover, Alkhidmat Foundation and the University of Lahore awarded degrees and dental kits. All 38 graduates received recognition for completing their studies.
In addition, 13 Palestinian doctors completed one-year clinical house jobs in Pakistan. They received internship certificates during the same ceremony.
Dr. Hafeez stated that Alkhidmat fulfilled its commitment to Palestinian students. He also acknowledged support from Pakistan’s government and embassy officials.
According to the foundation, over 450 Palestinian students currently study in Pakistan. Meanwhile, another 38 students continue their education in Cairo.
Ambassador Praises Pakistan’s Support for Palestinian Students
Palestinian Ambassador Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamdallah Zaid thanked Alkhidmat Foundation and Pakistan. He said Pakistan treated Palestinian students like its own children.
Furthermore, he noted that the newly qualified dentists could support healthcare services in Gaza. Their expertise may help injured and sick residents.
Graduate Ahmed Ataallah Mohammad Jabr spoke on behalf of the students. He described Pakistan as their second home and praised local hospitality.
He said the support received during studies inspired hope and confidence. The graduates now aim to return and serve communities in Gaza.
