2 terrorists killed in Bannu IBO: ISPR
State broadcaster Radio Pakistan reported that the military’s media affairs arm said that security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Janikhel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, leading to the killing of two terrorists.
The terrorists who were actively involved in carrying out terrorist actions against security forces and innocent civilians were neutralised, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The security personnel found guns and ammo in the terrorists’ possession.

The statement went on to say that local citizens had expressed their gratitude for the operation and had pledged their unwavering support for the security forces’ efforts to end the threat of terrorism.
Following Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’s cancellation of the ceasefire with the government in November, there was an uptick in terrorist activity across the nation, particularly in KP and Balochistan, around the time of this operation in Bannu.
Six Pakistan Army personnel were killed earlier this month after a firefight with militants in the Dir Duni area of KP’s North Waziristan district.
ISPR Director General
ISPR Director General Maj Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry announced in his inaugural press conference last month that 293 people had died and 521 had been injured in 436 terrorist events over the previous year.
While there were 219 terrorist attacks in KP that claimed 192 lives, there were just 206 in Balochistan. Seven people were killed in six acts of terrorism in Sindh, and 14 people lost their lives in five strikes in Punjab.
He said that in the previous year, the army and law enforcement organisations carried out 8,269 intelligence-based operations, which led to the capture of 1,378 suspected terrorists and the death of 157 others.
In addition, the DG ISPR disclosed that 117 security officers were hurt and 137 were martyred in anti-terror operations this year.
