ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed 10 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Pezu area of Tank district, where they killed 10 terrorists.

The killed terrorists, who had actively engaged in terrorist activities against security forces, extortion, and targeted killing of innocent citizens, had weapons and ammunition recovered from them.
The ISPR further stated that they were carrying out the sanitization of the area to eliminate any other terrorists present in the region. The military’s statement added that the local community in the area expressed their full support for the operation to eradicate the menace of terrorism.
Terrorist activities in Pakistan, especially in KP and Balochistan, have increased following the termination of the ceasefire by the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) with the government in November.
In a recent operation conducted last month in the Tirah valley of Khyber district, security forces killed three terrorists, including a commander, during a fierce exchange of fire.
The ISPR stated that the security forces, acting on a tip-off regarding the presence of terrorists, initiated the operation. According to the reports, Commander Kifayat, also known as Toor Adnan, actively participated in attacks on civilians and security forces.
