YouTube rolls out
ISLAMABAD: YouTube has announced the debut of ‘YouTube Premium’ and “YouTube Music” in Pakistan.
YouTube Premium offers the ultimate ad-free viewing experience on YouTube. It is available only as a paid membership.
The new app allows users to enjoy uninterrupted viewing without ads. It enables background play for multi-tasking or listening to educational videos. It also allows downloads of favorite shows and content for offline viewing during flights or travel. The package includes a limited internet access.
Meanwhile, YouTube Music is a music streaming app that provides an immersive listening experience. It offers official songs, albums, playlists, and artist radio. It also provide YouTube’s extensive catalog of remixes, live performances, covers, and music videos.
Users can enjoy the latest hits, discover songs they love, stay connected to the music world. You can also explore new music on their devices with this app.
The ad-supported version of YouTube Music is available for free, users have the option to upgrade to YouTube Music Premium. The premium version includes background play and downloads via YouTube Music.
Farhan S Qureshi, Google’s Director for Pakistan, mentioned that Pakistan has experienced significant growth in YouTube channels. More than 400 channels have 1 million+ subscribers, showing a 35% increase year over year.
Additionally, over 6,000 channels have over 100K subscribers, showing a 30% increase year over year.
To enjoy YouTube Premium, users can subscribe for Rs 479 per month. It includes a membership to YouTube Music Premium. They also have the option to sign up for the Premium Family Plan, starting at Rs 899 per month, allowing them to share the Premium membership with up to 5 other members of their household.
For those interested in YouTube Music Premium only, it is available for Rs299, and the Music Premium Family Plan starts at Rs479.
Furthermore, eligible students can opt for the Premium Student Plan at Rs329 and the Music Premium Student Plan for Rs149 on the web and Android devices.
Additionally, eligible users can take advantage of a special introductory offer, with 1 month of free access to YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium. With the arrival of these ultimate entertainment services in Pakistan, local artists are sharing their works on YouTube, expanding their fanbase globally, and engaging with audiences through music video premieres, YouTube exclusive content, and featured song lists.
