Xiaomi has officially announced and launched the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 in China on June 26, 2025, positioning it as a powerful premium clamshell foldable smartphone. With flagship-level hardware, a larger battery, and refined design, the MIX Flip 2 is being seen as a serious challenger to Samsungโs upcoming Galaxy Z Flip lineup.
Flagship Performance with Snapdragon 8 Elite
At the core of the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, delivering top-tier performance while maintaining energy efficiency. This chipset ensures smooth multitasking, gaming, and long-term performance stability, putting Xiaomi on equal footing with other flagship foldables.
Bright Dual Displays with 120Hz Refresh Rate
The device features a 6.86-inch inner AMOLED display and a 4.01-inch outer AMOLED cover screen, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and high brightness levels. Xiaomi has focused heavily on display quality, while also improving the crease, making it barely noticeable during everyday use.
Bigger Battery and Faster Charging
One of the standout upgrades is the 5,165mAh silicon-carbon battery, a significant improvement over the previous generation. The phone supports 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, offering excellent battery lifeโan area where many flip phones struggle.
Leica Cameras and Premium Design
The MIX Flip 2 features a dual 50MP Leica camera system, consisting of a wide and ultrawide lens, replacing the earlier telephoto setup. On the design front, the phone remains slim at 7.75mm when unfolded, weighs 199 grams, and includes a more durable hinge with ultra-tough flexible glass and IP54 dust and water resistance.
Software and Market Strategy
Running Android 15 with Xiaomi HyperOS, the phone supports extensive third-party apps on the cover screen. Xiaomi aims to directly compete with Samsungโs flip phones, launching just ahead of the expected Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Currently available in China, global availability is expected later, with international pricing yet to be announced.
