Xiaomi has officially announced the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, and the device is already available for sale in China. Soon after the launch, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) shared hands-on images and early impressions, highlighting several notable upgrades over the previous generation.
Bigger Battery and Improved Charging
One of the biggest improvements in the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is its 5,165mAh battery, a noticeable jump from the 4,780mAh battery found in the original Mix Flip. This upgrade is expected to deliver significantly better battery life, especially important for foldable devices. The phone also supports 50W wireless charging, adding convenience for users who prefer cable-free charging.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Performance
Under the hood, the Mix Flip 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which offers strong performance when required while maintaining efficient power usage during everyday tasks. This balance makes the device suitable for both heavy multitasking and prolonged daily use.
Displays and Visibility
The display sizes remain unchanged from last year, featuring a 4-inch cover display and a 6.86-inch inner foldable screen. According to DCS, the crease on the inner display is extremely minimal—reportedly one of the best in the industry. The cover display reaches 810 nits brightness in sunlight mode, ensuring good outdoor visibility.
Magnetic Accessories and Photo Printer
Xiaomi is also expanding its accessory ecosystem. The company now offers magnetic cases compatible with MagSafe-style chargers and stands. Additionally, Xiaomi introduced a portable photo printer, priced at CNY 700 (around $100). The printer includes a shutter button and allows users to instantly print and share photos directly from their phone.
New Photography Kit for Xiaomi 15 Ultra
Alongside the Mix Flip 2, Xiaomi also unveiled a new photography kit for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. While it lacks a photo printer or battery grip, it remains lightweight at just 42 grams and adds a two-stage shutter button along with a dedicated video key.
