While Bushra Ansari may have portrayed a tough mother-in-law to Hania Aamir’s character in last year’s drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, off-screen the veteran star is full of admiration for the young actress—especially in light of the criticism Hania is facing from Indian fanatics following her role in Sardaar Ji 3.
Bushra expressed dismay over the backlash. “Our Hania is so talented. I don’t understand why Indians are so afraid of her,” she said. “They’re blocking the film just because she’s in it. So what if they cast a Pakistani actor? Does that justify banning the movie?”
Bushra went on to praise Hania’s professionalism and dedication to her craft, highlighting her unwavering commitment regardless of external conditions.
“She gives her best whether it’s hot or cold. She’s always on set, focused and prepared—without any complaints,” Bushra said. “It doesn’t matter if someone is earning ten rupees or ten million—work is work, summer is summer, winter is winter. She understands that, and I’ve seen it in her.”
Hania’s appearance alongside Diljit Dosanjh in Sardaar Ji 3 has drawn ire from certain segments of the Indian public, something Bushra addressed directly.
“To my Indian friends, I’ll say this: stop acting like children,” she said bluntly. “If millions have been invested in the film, why are you so threatened by a young actress? Are you really scared of her talent? You shouldn’t be—you have your own talented stars. Just because one Pakistani actor was cast, is that reason enough for all this drama?”
Bushra ended her message with a clear appeal for maturity and perspective:
“Have some principles. Support talent, support art. One cross-border collaboration shouldn’t cause this kind of uproar.”
