While Bushra Ansari may have portrayed a tough mother-in-law to Hania Aamirโs character in last yearโs drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, off-screen the veteran star is full of admiration for the young actressโespecially in light of the criticism Hania is facing from Indian fanatics following her role in Sardaar Ji 3.
Bushra expressed dismay over the backlash. โOur Hania is so talented. I donโt understand why Indians are so afraid of her,โ she said. โTheyโre blocking the film just because sheโs in it. So what if they cast a Pakistani actor? Does that justify banning the movie?โ
Bushra went on to praise Haniaโs professionalism and dedication to her craft, highlighting her unwavering commitment regardless of external conditions.
โShe gives her best whether itโs hot or cold. Sheโs always on set, focused and preparedโwithout any complaints,โ Bushra said. โIt doesnโt matter if someone is earning ten rupees or ten millionโwork is work, summer is summer, winter is winter. She understands that, and Iโve seen it in her.โ
Haniaโs appearance alongside Diljit Dosanjh in Sardaar Ji 3 has drawn ire from certain segments of the Indian public, something Bushra addressed directly.
โTo my Indian friends, Iโll say this: stop acting like children,โ she said bluntly. โIf millions have been invested in the film, why are you so threatened by a young actress? Are you really scared of her talent? You shouldnโt beโyou have your own talented stars. Just because one Pakistani actor was cast, is that reason enough for all this drama?โ
Bushra ended her message with a clear appeal for maturity and perspective:
โHave some principles. Support talent, support art. One cross-border collaboration shouldnโt cause this kind of uproar.โ
