WhatsApp beta users may now have widespread access to the long-awaited Companion Mode, bringing the multi-device functionality one step closer to a stable version. Users will be able to link the same WhatsApp account to up to four smartphones with the Companion Mode upgrade, making it more convenient for individuals who own numerous devices. According to the screenshot, Companion Mode will work similarly to connected devices, in that entering the area of the linked device would deliver a QR code to scan on the other phone in order to utilise the same WhatsApp account. This function will synchronise both devices’ conversations and media.
