However, this feature works differently for your own account. If you have not uploaded a profile picture, only you will see your saved contact image. Other users will still see the default placeholder unless they also saved your photo.

This update builds on a previous feature that allowed users to import profile photos from social platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Now, WhatsApp is focusing on improving personalization within chats.
