Karachi
KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating that Karachi is likely to experience rain starting from July 18, according to a report.
As of today, the weather in Karachi remains partly cloudy with humid conditions. The sea breeze has resumed across the city, providing some relief from the heat. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 35°C today, maintaining warm conditions ahead of the anticipated rain.
The PMD has forecast that a rain-bearing weather system will begin to affect Karachi from the evening of July 18. This system is expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall on July 19 and 20, marking a significant change in the city’s weather pattern. Residents are advised to prepare for possible disruptions and take necessary safety precautions as the rainfall approaches.
This weather system is not limited to Karachi alone; it is moving from the northern parts of the country toward Sindh. As a result, various other districts in Sindh province are also expected to receive rainfall during this period.
The PMD has advised citizens across affected areas to stay updated with weather alerts and follow safety guidelines to minimize any adverse effects of the rain.
In addition to Karachi and Sindh, several other regions across Pakistan are expecting weather disturbances over the next twelve hours. Rain, windstorms, and thundershowers are predicted in many parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and both northeastern and southern Balochistan. These weather conditions could impact daily activities, and residents should remain vigilant.
The temperatures recorded in major cities this morning provide a snapshot of the current weather conditions: Islamabad recorded 25°C, Lahore 26°C, Karachi 30°C, Peshawar 27°C, Quetta and Muzaffarabad 23°C, Gilgit 21°C, and Murree 15°C.
Meanwhile, the weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir predicts partly cloudy skies with chances of rain and thundershowers.
Areas such as Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Jammu are expected to see rainfall. The morning temperatures recorded there include 17°C in Srinagar, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula; 26°C in Jammu; 12°C in Leh; and 16°C in Pulwama.
With these weather developments, authorities urge people in the affected regions to remain cautious, keep an eye on official weather updates, and take appropriate safety measures.
