ISLAMABAD: Pakistani actor Wahaj Ali, who rose to fame with his stellar performance in Tere Bin, is navigating a challenging phase as his latest drama, Sunn Mere Dil, struggles to capture audience interest.
Once celebrated for breaking records, Wahaj’s newest project has left fans underwhelmed, igniting conversations about his recent script choices.
With his portrayal of Murtasim in Tere Bin, Wahaj achieved unprecedented success, garnering nearly 4 billion views on YouTube. The drama’s popularity spanned Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and other Urdu-speaking regions, solidifying his status as a leading actor in the industry.
However, Sunn Mere Dil has not lived up to those high expectations. Despite 38 episodes, the drama has amassed only 670 million views—a significant drop compared to Tere Bin. With the finale airing on February 19, surpassing even 800 million views seems unlikely.
Fans, who had anticipated another hit from the same production house behind Tere Bin, have voiced disappointment, urging Wahaj to be more discerning in his role selection. Critics have pointed to a lackluster storyline and weak chemistry as key factors behind the show’s underwhelming performance.
Nevertheless, Wahaj’s supporters are pinning their hopes on his next project, Mitti De Bawey, which pairs him with the iconic Mahira Khan. Officially announced by Green Entertainment, the upcoming drama has already sparked excitement, with many fans predicting it will mark Wahaj’s triumphant return to the spotlight.
