Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal has finally revealed how he first met his now-wife, Katrina Kaif, crediting comedian Sunil Grover for playing an unexpected role in bringing them together.
Appearing on a talk show, the Sam Bahadur star shared heartwarming details about the early days of his relationship, describing how their story began long before their wedding.
“The first time I met her was at an award show I was hosting. She was performing on Chikni Chameli, and after the performance, Sunil Grover introduced us backstage,” Vicky recalled with a smile.
He added that Katrina immediately began giving him tips on hosting. “Within five minutes of meeting me, she started explaining how to host properly — even though I had already finished hosting!” he said, laughing at the memory.
Second encounter went viral
Their next meeting took place at another award show and turned into a viral on-stage moment. During a fun, scripted segment, Vicky jokingly proposed to Katrina in front of the audience.
“I asked her, ‘Why don’t you get married to a nice guy like Vicky?’ But we weren’t dating back then,” he clarified. The playful exchange sparked widespread speculation online about their chemistry, which later turned into a real-life romance.
Vicky also revealed a lesser-known moment from their courtship — a sweet gesture by Katrina. Before their marriage, she recorded herself singing a Punjabi song she loved. “She thought it was a romantic song,” Vicky said, adding that it showed her genuine affection for Punjabi culture, which made their bond even stronger.
After years of public curiosity and speculation, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif tied the knot on December 9, 2021, in a private ceremony that captivated Bollywood fans.
Recently, on November 7, 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, marking the start of a new and joyous chapter in their lives.
