Renowned Indian comedian and character actor Fish Venkat, born Mangalam Pali Venkatesh, has passed away at the age of 53, marking the end of a two-decade-long journey in the Telugu film industry. He died in a hospital in Hyderabad after suffering from chronic kidney disease, which had reached a critical stage in recent weeks.
According to hospital sources, both of Venkateshโs kidneys had failed completely, and he had been placed on a ventilator for several days as doctors tried to stabilize his condition. Despite all medical efforts, he succumbed to the illness yesterday, leaving behind a grieving family, a devoted fanbase, and colleagues from across the Indian film fraternity.
Fish Venkat began his acting career in 2000, gradually earning a name for himself in the Telugu film industry (Tollywood) through a series of memorable supporting roles.
Though he often portrayed comic and villainous characters, his versatility and timing made him a familiar and beloved presence on screen. He featured in numerous successful productions over the years, contributing to both commercial blockbusters and smaller cult classics.
