ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police today arrested a former PTI minister and son-in-law of the chief justice of Lahore High Court Ali Afzal Sahi.
Sahi came to Islamabad to appear in a case and Islamabad police took him into its custody. Ali Afzal Sahi was arrested from outside the judicial complex in Islamabad on Tuesday. Sahi came to the judicial complex to secure bail in the case registered at Golra Police Station in Islamabad.
The anti-terrorism court extended the interim bail of Ali Afzal Sahi.
However, the moment he came out from the court, the ICT Police arrested him in other cases registered against him.
Ali Afzal Sahi, son in law of the LHC chief justice was on the hit-list of the government and his arrest was expected.
Remand extended of PTI leader
An anti-terrorism court in Lahore extended the judicial remand of PTI leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed for 14 more days. The court extended his remand in the May 9 riots.
The former Punjab minister appeared before a single-member bench of the Lahore anti-terrorism court ATC.
After hearing the arguments, the court extended judicial remand of Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and ordered police to present the PTI leader before the court on June 27.
