Tehran: The Joint Iranian Armed Forced and IRGC spokesman Saturday claimed that two lodging facilities for theUS Army personnel in UAE were bombed early Saturday morning. The spokesman informed the media that one facility housed 400 and more US personnel , while the other had 100 or so person. Both the facilities, termed hideouts by the Iranian military spokesman were bombed through a assortment of guided missiles well as drones.
The spokesman said that the facilities hit were in Dubai outskirts and later the witnesses cited ambulances rushing to the areas for taking out the dead and wounded. The Iranian military count did not mention as to how many people were exactly killed or wounded. Meanwhile the PressTV Channel affiliated with the IRIB and IRGC showed visuals of smoke clouds rising up the sky around mountainous suggesting that the places hit were desolate and possibly away from the settled area in Dubai.
It is pertinent to note that the media specially the social media is abuzz with similar attacks elsewhere in the Gulf, notably Kuwait, where similar concentration of troops have been reported. Furthermore, on Friday, made a categorical warning to all the Gulf states that hotels or similar lodgings housing US troops will be considered military targets and can be bombed by the IRGC.
The current wave according to the spokesman was completely executed by the IRGC Aerospace Unit; or an equivalent of Air Force, keeping in view the fact that the IRIAF is almost non existent and the only sign of air superiority resting with the Iranian military is the IRGC Aerospace warheads. The casualty count if confirmed will be heaviest for the US personnel killed anywhere, after the October 23, 1983 bombing of US Marines HQ and that of French Marines in Beirut in the run up of the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon.
