Late night show hosts take their shows home owing to novel Covid surge in Los Angeles.
James Corden will host his show from his garage at home and Jimmy Kimmel will host his show remotely.
Taking to social media Corden talked about his new arrangement and said he will filming The Late Late Show from his garage and will remain there โuntil itโs safe to return to our studio.โ
Similarly, Jimmy Kimmel also set up his workplace at home from where he will be entertaining the world in the effort of keeping the very world safer and healthier.
The arrangements have been made following the appeals by the actors union SAG-AFTRA and Hollywood producers for production to be suspended on all TV and film sets until more hospital beds become available to treat COVID-19 patients and the pandemic is under control to some extent.
Gabrielle Carteris, the president of SAG-AFTRA, said in a joint statement issued on Sunday,
โPatients are dying in ambulances waiting for treatment because hospital emergency rooms are overwhelmed. This is not a safe environment for in-person production right now.”
Despite a stringent shutdown including the closure of gyms, hair salons, and restaurants, Los Angeles County is currently a major hot spot of Covid. It has been reported by local health officials that one person is dying every 10 minutes in the county.
