The United States has imposed a new round of sanctions targeting six individuals and twelve companies linked to Iran and China. These measures are aimed at curbing Iran’s access to components essential for its ballistic missile and drone development programs.
According to the U.S. Treasury Department, the sanctions apply to companies involved in producing parts used in Iran’s missile systems. The sanctions also extend to organizations overseeing Iran’s missile activities, reflecting Washington’s ongoing efforts to hinder Iran’s defense capabilities.
The Treasury stated that the move seeks to disrupt the supply chain supporting Iran’s missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) development by limiting access to critical materials and technology.
Meanwhile, during his visit to the Middle East, former U.S. President Donald Trump announced a major aviation deal in Qatar. Speaking at a press conference in Doha, Trump revealed that Qatar Airways has finalized an agreement to purchase 160 Boeing aircraft in a deal exceeding $200 billion.
“This historic agreement is a testament to the growing strength of U.S.-Qatar relations,” Trump said. “The partnership between our two countries has reached new heights.”
