Karachi โ The University of Karachi has announced a revised academic schedule, introducing limited in-person classes twice a week starting Thursday, April 2. The administration issued an official notification outlining the new hybrid system aimed at balancing physical and online learning.
According to the directive, on-campus classes will take place every Monday and Thursday. Meanwhile, teaching activities for the remaining weekdays will continue through online platforms, ensuring academic continuity while managing operational requirements.
Class Timings and Attendance Requirements Outlined
Furthermore, the university detailed specific timings for both morning and evening programs. Morning classes will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while evening sessions will be conducted from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on designated days.
In addition, the administration has instructed faculty and staff to maintain strict attendance in line with the updated schedule. Officials emphasized that compliance with these guidelines remains essential for the smooth implementation of the hybrid model.
Support Measures and Academic Flexibility
Moreover, the university has arranged transport facilities for students attending in-person classes on Mondays and Thursdays. This measure aims to facilitate accessibility and ensure student convenience.
At the same time, departments retain flexibility in managing postgraduate programs. The notification allows MPhil and PhD classes to be scheduled on weekends, depending on departmental needs and course requirements.
Consequently, the new system reflects an adaptive approach to education, combining physical presence with digital learning tools. University officials expect the revised schedule to support both academic progress and institutional efficiency.
