ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates on Tuesday dismissed media reports about the status of Iranian nationals living in the country.
The UAE government released an official statement regarding the matter, saying that the Iranian community has been living in the country for decades. They emphasized that Iranians have always been part of the countryโs society.
Moreover, the ministry emphasized that the UAE is home to over 200 nationalities. It reiterated the countryโs long-standing policy of tolerance, coexistence, and respect for all communities.
No Change in Policy
The authorities stated that the recent allegations regarding the status of Iranian nationals have nothing to do with reality. They ensured that the laws and mechanisms in the country provide the necessary safety and security to every citizen, regardless of their nationalities.
The statement has emphasized the UAE’s commitment to the rule of law and its focus on creating a stable, secure, and inclusive environment in which all who live and work in the UAE can thrive.
This clarification has been issued in the wake of the tensions in the region due to the ongoing war between Iran, the United States, and Israel. The Iranians have lived and worked in the UAE for generations in the business and trade sector.
Overall, the UAE has managed to maintain a neutral stance in the conflict while ensuring the security of all residents.
