The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has issued a clarification firmly denying reports claiming that the country is offering a lifetime Golden Visa to certain nationalities.
In an official statement, the ICP dismissed the circulating claims—shared by some local and international media outlets and websites—as completely false. The authority stressed that no such policy exists, and urged the public to ignore unverified and misleading information.
All Golden Visa applications, the ICP clarified, are processed exclusively through official government channels within the UAE. No internal or external advisory group has the authority to manage or approve such applications.
“The categories of golden residence, their conditions and controls are clearly outlined in UAE laws, legislation, and ministerial decisions,” the statement said. It advised individuals to obtain accurate information directly from the ICP website or its smart application.
False Reports Circulated Widely
The false claims reportedly originated from a press release published on Monday, July 7, and were shared by several Indian media outlets and some UAE-based organisations. However, the ICP did not identify the source of the misleading release. It did confirm that legal action will be taken against those involved in spreading the rumours.
According to the authority, these entities are exploiting the hopes of people aspiring to live and work in the UAE, seeking to profit by spreading disinformation.
Public Urged to Use Official Channels Only
Reaffirming its commitment to providing a secure, transparent, and reliable service environment, the ICP warned the public not to fall for false promises or shortcuts related to residency or investment opportunities.
It strongly encouraged all individuals interested in visiting, living, or investing in the UAE to rely solely on official sources, including the ICP website or its customer service helpline (600 522 222), to verify visa and immigration procedures.
