A popular Instagram account featuring twin sisters attracted nearly 300,000 followers before investigators revealed it as an advanced artificial intelligence creation. The account, titled โItsvaleriaandcamila,โ surged in popularity over the past two months, driven by the striking appearance of its influencers.
Moreover, the characters claimed to be real conjoined twins, sharing a single body with two distinct heads and faces. Since launching on Instagram in December 2025, the page uploaded more than 100 photos and videos. The posts portrayed everyday activities, including travel diaries, fashion shoots, and candid discussions about dating. As a result, audiences engaged heavily, often praising the twinsโ confidence and unusual story.
However, some viewers quietly questioned the polished visuals and near-perfect symmetry displayed across the content.
Questions lead to confirmation
During a recent question-and-answer session, the twins offered elaborate explanations about their lives. They claimed to have separate stomachs, experience hunger differently, and coordinate daily routines through cooperation.
Additionally, they said they both dated the same person, further fueling the fascination. Nevertheless, they avoided direct confirmation of their authenticity. Eventually, renowned AI prompt engineer Andrew Hilbert disclosed that the influencers were entirely digital. He explained that the creator designed a detailed narrative to maximize engagement and online clout.
Furthermore, Hilbert highlighted technical inconsistencies, including fluctuating body proportions across images and videos. According to him, such flaws commonly appear in AI-generated visuals. He also argued that the twinsโ flawless appearance reflects unrealistic, media-driven beauty standards.
Consequently, the revelation sparked debate about transparency, ethics, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence on social media platforms worldwide. Industry observers urged clearer labeling of synthetic personas.
