Türkiye has officially revised its transit visa charges for Pakistani nationals, introducing updated fees for both single and double-entry categories effective August 2025. The move is aimed at streamlining travel processes for international passengers passing through Turkish airports, particularly Istanbul, which serves as one of the busiest global hubs.
Türkiye’s Role as a Global Travel Hub
Strategically positioned at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Türkiye has long served as a vital transit point for global travelers. Istanbul, in particular, connects thousands of passengers daily to destinations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and North America. By updating its visa procedures, Türkiye aims to further enhance its role in global tourism, trade, and diplomatic exchange.
A Turkish transit visa allows foreign travelers, including Pakistanis, to pass through the country en route to their final destinations. Depending on flight schedules and personal preferences, passengers may either remain in the airport’s transit zone or, if they wish to leave the airport during a layover, must hold a valid Turkish transit visa.
Updated Transit Visa Fees for Pakistani Nationals
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revised the fee structure for Pakistani travelers. Fees are payable in Pakistani rupees (PKR) through Anatolia Travel Services, which has been authorized to process visa applications in Pakistan. The charges are calculated using the daily exchange rate announced by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The updated fee structure is as follows:
| Visa Type | Duration | Fee (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Single Transit | 3 months | $180 |
| Single Transit | 6 months | $200 |
| Single Transit | 12 months | $220 |
| Double Transit | 3 months | $240 |
| Double Transit | 6 months | $260 |
| Double Transit | 12 months | $280 |
These updated charges are applicable from August 2025 onward. The double-entry option provides flexibility for passengers who need to transit through Türkiye more than once within the visa’s validity period, while the single-entry option remains suitable for one-time travelers.
Visa Application Process in Pakistan
To apply for a Turkish transit visa, Pakistani applicants are required to submit their original passport along with necessary supporting documents to Anatolia Travel Services, which operates in line with guidelines from the Turkish Embassy and Consulates.
Applicants must pay the fee in Pakistani rupees, either through cash or an online system, with the amount calculated based on the SBP’s exchange rate from the previous day. This ensures transparency in the fee process while allowing applicants to complete payments in their local currency.
Simplified Travel for International Passengers
The revision of transit visa fees is part of Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to simplify travel procedures for international passengers. With Istanbul at the heart of these reforms, the government aims to strengthen Türkiye’s position as a global transit hub while ensuring smoother processing for travelers.
By updating the fees and application systems, Türkiye is not only facilitating global mobility but also reinforcing its role as a bridge between continents. For Pakistani travelers, the new structure provides greater clarity, efficiency, and accessibility in planning their journeys through Turkish airports.
