ISLAMABAD: The Turkish University Fair 2026 concluded successfully in Islamabad, bringing together leading academic institutions from Türkiye and fostering engagement with Pakistan’s education sector.
Organized by the Maarif Agency, with support from the Turkish Maarif Foundation and the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye, the event took place at a major hotel in the capital. It aimed to promote international education opportunities and deepen academic collaboration between the two countries.
Meanwhile, nine prominent Turkish universities participated in the fair, offering students detailed insights into academic programs, admissions, and scholarship options. The event drew a large number of students, educators, and institutional representatives from across Pakistan.
Distinguished guests included Türkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan İrfan Neziroğlu and senior officials from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, alongside vice chancellors and representatives of leading universities.
In addition, major Pakistani institutions actively engaged in the event, including the National University of Sciences and Technology, FAST National University, COMSATS University Islamabad, University of Lahore, Lahore College for Women University, Foundation University Islamabad, University of Education Lahore, and Riphah International University.
Furthermore, the fair facilitated structured discussions between Turkish and Pakistani institutions on student exchange programs, joint research, and long-term academic partnerships. Officials highlighted the importance of such initiatives in expanding access to global education and promoting knowledge sharing.
Ambassador Neziroğlu emphasized the strong bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye, noting that educational cooperation remains central to strengthening ties.
The event also reflected rising interest among Pakistani students in studying in Türkiye, which hosts more than 380,000 international students from over 180 countries.
