President Donald Trump said the United States has effectively become the “real United Nations,” claiming that eight wars were brought to an end within 11 months due to American involvement and leadership in conflict resolution.
In a statement shared on social media, President Trump welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia, calling it a positive step toward lasting peace in the region. He said the end of hostilities demonstrated the effectiveness of US diplomacy and engagement in resolving international disputes.
Trump Welcomes Thailand–Cambodia Ceasefire
President Trump said he was pleased that fighting between Thailand and Cambodia had stopped and expressed hope that both nations would now focus on stability and peaceful coexistence. He congratulated the leadership of both countries for making what he described as a swift and fair decision in the interest of peace.
Moreover, Trump said the United States played a constructive role in facilitating the ceasefire and supporting diplomatic efforts behind the scenes. He added that Washington remains committed to helping nations resolve disputes through dialogue rather than prolonged conflict.
According to Trump, the ceasefire reflects a broader pattern of successful US-led or US-supported diplomatic initiatives. He stated that the United States takes pride in contributing to peace efforts across different regions of the world.
Criticism of Global Conflict Resolution Efforts
President Trump went on to claim that eight wars had been halted within an 11-month period, attributing these outcomes to American pressure, mediation, and strategic engagement. He argued that no other international actor had delivered comparable results during the same period.
In contrast, Trump criticised the lack of progress in resolving the Russia–Ukraine war. He said no meaningful efforts were being made to stop the conflict and argued that international institutions had failed to play an effective role.
He further stated that the United Nations should take a more active and decisive approach in promoting global peace. However, he claimed that the United States had stepped into that role by producing tangible results where others had not.
