US MAINTAINS MILITARY PRESENCE AROUND IRAN
U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday said American military forces would remain deployed around Iran until Tehran fully complies with a recently reached agreement. In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that U.S. ships, aircraft, and personnel, supported by additional weapons and ammunition, would stay in position.
Moreover, he stressed that the arrangement must be implemented completely. Trump warned that any failure to meet the terms could trigger renewed military action. He added that if compliance does not occur, the United States would respond with force stronger than before. As a result, tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high despite ongoing diplomatic efforts.
At the same time, Trump reiterated that the agreement includes preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. He insisted that these conditions were settled earlier, despite what he described as conflicting public statements.
DISPUTES OVER NUCLEAR TERMS AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS
Meanwhile, Iran signaled reluctance to move forward with broader negotiations. Officials described talks as unreasonable following recent Israeli strikes on Lebanon, which reportedly caused heavy casualties. Consequently, the gap between the two sides appears to be widening.
In addition, disagreements persist over Iranโs nuclear program. Trump claimed that Tehran agreed to halt uranium enrichment entirely. However, Iranโs parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, maintained that enrichment remains permitted under the ceasefire terms.
Furthermore, these conflicting interpretations have complicated efforts to establish a lasting peace framework. Analysts warn that without clear alignment on key provisions, the risk of escalation remains significant.
Overall, the situation reflects fragile diplomacy, where military pressure and political disagreements continue to shape the trajectory of US-Iran relations.
