Major Combat Targets Tehran and Military Infrastructure
Wsshington: President Donald Trump on Saturday called on the Iranian people to “take over your government” following coordinated U.S. and Israeli air strikes on Iran. In a video posted on social media, Trump stated, “It will be yours to take,” while emphasizing that the United States had begun “major combat operations in Iran” aimed at neutralizing imminent threats.
The initial strikes reportedly targeted areas near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, although it remains unclear whether the 86-year-old leader was present. Iranian media reported blasts across the country, with smoke rising from Tehran, prompting authorities to close roads near Khamenei’s compound and enforce heightened security measures. The attack coincides with the U.S. deploying a substantial fleet of fighter jets and warships to the region to pressure Iran regarding its nuclear program.
Destruction Focused on Missile and Naval Forces
Trump detailed that U.S. objectives include destroying Iran’s missile capabilities, missile production facilities, and naval forces. “We are going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground. It will be totally—again—obliterated. We’re going to annihilate their navy,” he said. He framed the operation as a defensive measure to protect American citizens while signaling a willingness to confront Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
Additionally, Trump warned Iranian forces that they face either “immunity” or “certain death” and encouraged civilians to seize the opportunity for change. Analysts note the strikes represent one of the most direct U.S.-Israeli military actions in Tehran in decades, raising concerns about possible retaliation and broader regional escalation. Authorities continue monitoring Tehran and surrounding areas as the situation develops, emphasizing readiness for any response.
