A heartbreaking incident occurred in Gujranwala, where two young sisters lost their lives and their parents were hospitalized soon after eating pizza.
The family, including police officer Naveed and his wife, had ordered the pizza to celebrate the birthday of one of the daughters. The celebration quickly turned into tragedy as all four family members fell seriously ill shortly after eating the meal.
According to Naveed, their condition worsened rapidly. One daughter died while being taken to the hospital, while the other passed away during treatment. Both parents are currently under medical care.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, with initial suspicions focusing on potential food contamination. Authorities are awaiting medical reports to confirm the cause of the illness.
This tragedy follows a similar incident earlier in Punjab’s Tandlianwala, where four minor girls and their mother died after consuming what was believed to be poisonous food.
In that case, police confirmed the deaths of three-year-old Farzana, four-year-old Aqsa, five-year-old Rukhsana, eight-year-old Muskan, and their 34-year-old mother, also named Muskan. The incident occurred on May 5 in Tandlianwala, a town located between Faisalabad and Okara.
Authorities in both cases have urged caution and are intensifying efforts to ensure food safety standards are upheld.
