The Rawalpindi Traffic Police have announced a detailed traffic management plan for the upcoming Pakistan vs South Africa Test match, set to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 20 to 24, 2025.
According to the plan, 367 traffic wardens and officers will be deployed across the city to ensure smooth vehicle movement and public convenience during the five-day event.
Alternate Routes and Diversions
City Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam stated that a special diversion plan has been prepared to manage congestion around the stadium. Traffic coming from Islamabad will be redirected from Faizabad to the Islamabad Expressway, while vehicles heading from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will be diverted from 6th Road to Saidpur Road.
Moreover, Stadium Road, stretching from 9th Avenue Chowk to Double Road, will remain closed for all traffic throughout the matches. Motorists are advised to use IJP Road and Faizabad as alternate routes.
Parking and Shuttle Services for Spectators
For spectators’ ease, parking spaces have been allocated at the Civil Aviation Ground, Shahbaz Sharif Park, and Government Graduate College Satellite Town. Shuttle services will transport visitors to and from the stadium to reduce foot traffic and congestion in nearby areas.
Public Awareness and Traffic Updates
The traffic police have urged citizens to cooperate with officials and follow diversion signs to avoid inconvenience. Real-time traffic updates will be shared on social media platforms and local radio channels during the event.
The Rawalpindi Traffic Police emphasized that their top priority is ensuring public safety and smooth traffic flow during the Test series.
Fans attending the Pakistan–South Africa Test are advised to arrive early, use designated parking areas, and plan their routes ahead to avoid delays.
