The first teaser for Toxic has given fans a chilling glimpse into its dark, violent world, unveiling Yash in what appears to be his most menacing role to date. Released on Thursday, January 8, the teaser arrived as a special birthday surprise for the actor, who turned 40.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the nearly three-minute teaser introduces Yash as Raya, a ruthless gangster operating in a grim, unforgiving setting. The teaser opens with a funeral scene, immediately establishing a sombre tone, before shifting to a tense sequence involving a grieving family leaving a cemetery. The mood escalates as a mysterious car arrives, hinting at impending danger.
Inside the vehicle, a brief intimate moment unfolds before Raya steps out, shirtless, calmly slipping into a black overcoat. Smoking a cigar, he surveys the scene before erupting into sudden violence, opening fire on the unsuspecting family without hesitation.
The teaser ends on a chilling note with Yash delivering the line, “Daddy’s home,” reinforcing the character’s cold-blooded dominance.
Sharing the teaser, the makers wrote, “Get a good look at your danger – Introducing RAYA…,” a caption that further fuelled excitement among fans. Social media was soon flooded with reactions, with many viewers comparing the film’s tone and visuals to gritty Hollywood gangster dramas.
