ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Division has released the quarterly Tosha Khana details for July to September 2025. The list includes gifts received by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other top officials during foreign tours. Prime Minister Shehbaz received the highest number of gifts among all leaders.
Senior Ministers and Officials Included
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also received several gifts. Other recipients include Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi and Power Minister Owais Laghari. Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani and Speaker Ayaz Sadiq also feature on the list.
Luxury Gifts Submitted to the State
Gifts included luxury watches, ornaments, perfumes, paintings and carpets. The record also listed rifles, tea sets, bowls and diaries. All items were submitted to the Tosha-e-Khana. The Cabinet Division is currently estimating their value.
Transparency Drive Continues
The Shehbaz government earlier published the Tosha Khana records from 2002 to June 2025. Records from 1997 to 2001 were also released. However, this quarter did not include the column identifying gift donors.
System Ensures Public Accountability
The Tosha-e-Khana system logs gifts received during official foreign trips. Recipients must pay the state if they choose to retain items. Officials said publishing such data strengthens transparency and accountability in government.
