Tim David produced one of the most explosive T20 innings in recent memory, smashing a 37-ball unbeaten century to guide Australia to a six-wicket victory over West Indies in the second T20I at the Gaddafi Stadium. The hosts chased down the lofty 214/4 target with 23 balls to spare, clinching the three-match series 2-0 with one game remaining.
David’s knock, studded with 11 towering sixes, overshadowed Shai Hope’s century earlier in the match and marked the fastest T20I hundred ever scored by an Australian. His dazzling innings turned what looked like a competitive contest into a one-sided spectacle.
Early Wickets, but David Turns the Tide
Australia began their chase aggressively, with Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell hammering 30 runs from the first two overs. However, the West Indies clawed their way back through Akeal Hosein, Romario Shepherd, and Jason Holder, who removed the top order to leave Australia at 65/3 after six overs.

Earlier, West Indies looked in command after a 125-run opening stand between Shai Hope (102 off 57) and Brandon King (62 off 36). Their fireworks propelled the visitors to a commanding total of 214/4, but it ultimately proved insufficient against Australia’s relentless batting.
