TikToker Details Harassment and Threats
Popular TikToker Samiya Hijab has accused a young man from Lahore of attempting to kidnap her after she rejected his marriage proposal. She claimed the man had been threatening to kill her for the past three months.
In a video statement shared on social media, Hijab explained that the man had persistently pressured her to marry him. “First he used to tell me to marry him. I rejected his proposal, but he kept following me,” she said.
Alleged Kidnap Attempt Outside Her Home
According to Hijab, the incident escalated when the man appeared outside her home while her mother was unwell and her brother was away. She alleged that he tried to snatch her phone, forced her toward his car, and attempted to abduct her. “I also have a recording of this,” she added.
Hijab compared her ordeal to that of her friend, TikToker Sana Yousaf, who was recently killed after rejecting a marriage proposal.
Police Involvement and Call for Action
The TikToker confirmed that Islamabad Police had recorded her statement and registered a case. She expressed hope that authorities would arrest the suspect soon.
Appealing directly to the Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Hijab urged strict action against the accused. “There are many girls going through the same situation but they cannot speak out,” she said, calling for stronger protection and collective support for women facing harassment.

Pakistani actor Maya Ali has spoken candidly about her views on marriage, making it clear that she will not succumb to societal pressure or external expectations when it comes to such a personal decision. On a recent podcast, the Mann Mayal star emphasized that marriage is a major life decision that should be made thoughtfully, and not simply to satisfy questions or judgments from others.
“We shouldn’t get married just because someone is asking why we haven’t done so yet,” Maya said, pointing out the common social pressures women face. She explained that people often attempt to push women into marriage by claiming they are getting older or suggesting that a particular person could “keep them happy.” For her, marriage is much more than fulfilling social expectations—it involves a meaningful connection between two individuals and their families.
