PESHAWAR: Three Federal Constabulary personnel were martyred and 11 others injured on Monday when a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the gate of the FC headquarters in Peshawar.
The attack took place in the Saddar area of the northwestern city and involved three militants, according to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. Officials confirmed that all three attackers were suicide bombers. One detonated explosives at the main gate, while the other two entered the compound but were immediately shot and killed. Police are now defusing additional explosives left near the gate.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the first attacker approached the headquarters on foot from the Saddar side and attempted to enter the premises. The blast occurred at 8:11 a.m., but security personnel stopped the bomber at the barrier. His companions also tried to breach the compound but were intercepted and neutralized by security forces.
CCTV footage from the main gate captured the blast, showing the moment of the explosion and the subsequent attempts by the other attackers to enter the headquarters. Security personnel successfully prevented further intrusion, containing the situation quickly.
