“The Voice” contestant Jacob Ryan Gustafson stunned coaches during his blind audition — but not for his singing alone. The Loma Linda Fire Department engineer stepped onto the stage, intending to perform Morgan Wallen’s “Spin You Around” for coaches Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Michael Bublé, and Niall Horan.
Before singing, Jacob revealed that the performance carried a special dedication. “I hear this song, and I think of Jenn and spinning around all night dancing,” he said. “That’s what I want to do with her for the rest of my life.”
A surprise proposal unfolds: The Voice Contestant
Moments later, Jacob invited his girlfriend, Jenn, onto the stage. Looking at her, he said, “This life is beautiful, and I’m so blessed. Even right now, if I could change anything, the only thing I’d change is your last name.”
The heartfelt speech led to a surprise proposal. Jacob got down on one knee and asked Jenn, “Will you marry me?” The audience erupted, while the four coaches leapt from their chairs to congratulate the newly engaged couple.
Audition outcome
After the emotional proposal, Jacob performed his chosen audition song for the coaches. Despite his passion and heartfelt delivery, none of the four turned their iconic red chairs. Although he did not advance in the competition, Jacob left the stage with a life-changing “yes” from Jenn and the admiration of the panel.
A memorable Voice moment
The proposal instantly became one of the most talked-about moments of the season, highlighting how the show often creates stories beyond music. While Jacob’s journey on “The Voice” ended quickly, his romantic gesture captured hearts and created a memory that both the couple and fans will remember.
