In Lahore, on Monday, the High Court dismissed a petition challenging the decision to feature ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s image on the Kisan Card in Punjab.
According to the information provided, Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected a case submitted by an individual named Mashkoor Hussain.

The legal representative of the Punjab government has communicated to the court that the proposal to feature Nawaz Sharif’s photograph on the Kisan card has not been definitively confirmed at this time.
A week ago, the choice to imprint the photograph of ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Kisan Cards in Punjab was contested at the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Mashkoor Hussain, the applicant, argued in his statement that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has agreed to include Nawaz Sharif’s photo on Kisan Cards. However, he emphasized that public funds should not be utilized for promoting personal publicity.
Using the national treasury for personal publicity is a violation of the Supreme Court’s verdict, the plea stated and urged the court to stay the decision until a decision on the plea.
The esteemed Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has endorsed the ‘Nawaz Sharif Farmers’ Card Initiative.’ This project is designed to enhance the agricultural sector and improve the socio-economic status of farmers within the region.
The Chief Minister chaired a discussion on agricultural improvements, focusing on the Kisan Card program. She announced that 500,000 small farmers would receive accessible loans totaling Rs150 billion within a year.
Farmers will receive loans of Rs. 30,000 per acre for purchasing seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. The Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card initiative will also offer various subsidies to support farmers, as mentioned by the speaker.
