ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, theater operator AMC announced that advance ticket sales for Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour movie have exceeded $100 million globally, establishing it as the top-grossing feature-length concert film in history.
On October 13, “Taylor Swift – The Eras Tour” will be released in 8,500 cinemas across 100 countries, making it poised to surpass “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” as the highest-grossing concert film ever. “This Is It,” which documented Michael Jackson’s performance preparations, is not considered a concert film.

Originally intended for a U.S. release, “Eras” will now be a global event, coinciding with Swift’s upcoming tour leg spanning South America, Australia, Asia, Europe, the United States, and Canada next year. Revenue projections for the film, shown in 8,500 cinemas worldwide, including North America, are estimated at over $100 million during its three-day opening weekend from October 13 to 15.
The film features footage from three of Taylor Swift‘s concerts at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Los Angeles. Her “Eras” tour includes 146 dates. According to Pollstar, each concert generates approximately $13 million in revenue and potentially leading to a tour total of around $1.9 billion.
Additionally, singer Beyonce will follow Swift’s example, planning a theater release of a documentary inspired by her “Renaissance” tour. AMC also shares rose nearly two percent in electronic trading after the Wall Street closing.
