LOS ANGELES: Taylor Swift walked away with the biggest haul at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday night, winning seven awards including Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year for her upbeat record “The Life of a Showgirl.”
The singer looked elegant in a seafoam green velvet corset and matching miniskirt with light pink bead details as she accepted several trophies at the Dolby Theatre.
During her speech for Album of the Year, Swift gave some heartfelt advice to young artists. She urged them to take time to learn their craft in private, without rushing to share everything online.
“I’m a firm believer that anything you feed your mind, it will internalise, and anything you feed the Internet, it will attempt to kill,” she said while holding the trophy. “And I don’t want that for your dreams.”
She recalled spending thousands of hours as a teenager quietly playing guitar, writing songs, making mistakes and learning from them away from the public eye.
Swift was also given awards for Song of the Year and Best Music Video for “The Fate of Ophelia.” Olympic figure skating champion Alysa Liu gave Swift the Artist of the Year award. “I was so happy watching that performance. I think it gave me a lot of happiness.”
She said that she was grateful for her fans, thanking her fiancé, NFL football player Travis Kelce, who was in the front row wearing a brown leather jacket. “Thanks for all the vibes,” Swift said, smiling. They announced their engagement in August.
“Showgirl” has obviously resonated well with her fans, and Swift’s performance at the awards ceremony once again proved that she is a very popular artist in the music world.
